Peter Schork, President and CEO of Ann Arbor State Bank
Peter Schork is a lifelong resident of Washtenaw County, having the good fortune of being born in Ypsilanti. Peter‘s love of books came from his parents, who enrolled him in Readak and numerous math and science programs at an early age. Peter earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan in economics and political science, and his Master’s in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan. His academic accomplishments led him to pursue a career in banking. After many years as a private banker and in bank management roles, Peter helped establish Ann Arbor State Bank, where he serves as President and CEO.
Peter was asked to join the Ann Arbor Book Festival by Evans Young and Bill Zirinsky in 2007, while he was working for local book legend, Edward Surovell. He has enjoyed watching the festival grow into a unique venue for books, literacy, and author presentations. He has been the Treasurer of the Festival for several years and is active in the Festival’s Book Crawl Events. He reads science fiction and historial novels in his spare time, and considers himself and expert on Major League Baseball of the 1970’s and the films of Errol Flynn.
